Directions to the Yonkers Waterfront

GOOGLE MAP to the BID Office

Directions from the North:
Take Major Deegan / NYS Thruway (I-87) OR Sprain Brook Parkway OR Bronx River Parkway Southbound to Cross County Parkway westbound.

Directions from the South
Take Major Deegan (I-95) OR Bronx River Parkway OR Hutchinson River Parkway north to Cross County Parkway westbound.

Passing exit for Yonkers Avenue EAST, take next exit (Exit 2) at Yonkers Avenue WEST (Saw Mill Parkway northbound/Albany).

Do NOT get on Saw Mill. Stay to the right on the exit ramp as it curves around (you will make an almost full circle). At end of ramp, make right at light onto Yonkers Avenue Westbound.

OR
Take Saw Mill River Parkway south to Downtown Yonkers/Yonkers Avenue westbound.

Take West Side Highway (which becomes Saw Mill) northbound to Yonkers Avenue Westbound. 

Stay on Yonkers Avenue, which will bear off to the left in front of a large tan brick Catholic church (St. Casimir) and become Nepperhan Avenue.

Continue straight on Nepperhan through two traffic lights (School St. and New Main Street).

You will pass Yonkers City Hall on the right and go up and over a hill. 
At the next light (South Broadway), Nepperhan Avenue becomes Prospect.

Go straight on Prospect to a "T" intersection (Buena Vista Avenue).
Make right onto Buena Vista. There will be a traffic light at the intersection with Main Street.

The Yonkers Recreation Pier is to the left at traffic light on Main Street - proceed under the tracks.

Directions from the River Towns (Hastings-on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Tarrytown):

Take Route 9 (North Broadway) south  into Yonkers. Go straight on North Broadway through light at Ashburton. North Broadway will become Wells Avenue at dogleg to the right and end at light at Warburton Avenue.  Make left at light onto Warburton, then next right onto Dock Street.

OR

Take Route 9 south to Hastings Business District (right at light onto Warburton). Continue on Warburton to Dock Street (Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site will be on your right). Make right onto Dock Street.

The Yonkers Riverfront Library is at the foot of Dock Street. You can turn into parking spaces in Larkin Plaza or find metered street parking in the area. You can park FREE  in the Buena Vista Parking Garage (8 Buena Vista Avenue) for three hours during regular library hours. (Please bring your parking stub with you and have it validated at the Library information desk.) Enter on Hudson or Hawthorne Street.

For the Yonkers Riverfront Library, One Larkin Center:

Go straight through light at Main Street. Library is large white building directly across from the Yonkers MetroNorth (Hudson Division) train station. There is metered parking throughout the area. You can park FREE in the Buena Vista Parking Garage (8 Buena Vista Avenue) for three hours during regular library hours. (Please bring your parking stub with you and have it validated at the Library main desk.) Enter garage by car on Hudson or Hawthorne Street; on foot on Buena Vista Avenue.

For the Yonkers Recreation Pier (71 Water Grant Street; end of Main St.) and Amphitheatre:

Make left onto Buena Vista Avenue and right at light (Main Street), going under train tracks. Pier will be directly ahead of you.

Train:

Take Metro North (Hudson Division) / Amtrak to Yonkers Station.  The Yonkers Riverfront Library is directly across the street SE from the station.
For the Yonkers Recreation Pier: When you exit the station, make a right and make another right (going under the train tracks). Pier will be directly in front of you.

Wayfarer Signage:
There are prominent wayfarer signs throughout the downtown waterfront area to help guide you to prominent landmarks like the Library and Philipse Manor Hall.
