The Yonkers Downtown BID "Painted the Town Red" with balloons on Saturday February 14, 2009. Shoppers and residents were welcomed to Getty Square and the rest of the BID district with hundreds of red balloons
The "Very Valentine's Day" promotion included specials from participating merchants (see below) to address the economic challenges while still "spreading the love" for the Cupid's annual February holiday.
"Our hope is the BID can support our businesses during this time of uncertainty," said BID Executive Director Steve Sansone.
"However, there is no uncertainty around the importance of Valentine's Day," he continued.
The BID's Valentine's Day marketing blitz is part of a series of efforts to highlight the downtown and waterfront areas of Yonkers as shopping destinations.
