-- Announces New Location in Yonkers iPark Complex--

New York, NY – The Workshop in Business Opportunities (WIBO), a private non-profit organization that provides a 16-week workshop to entrepreneurs and small business owners, today announced its expansion into Westchester County, New York with the opening of a new location in the City of Yonkers.  The New York based organization, which has eight locations in Manhattan and surrounding boroughs, previously served Southern Westchester County through its Bronx location. The new location is based at:

“We are very pleased to expand our services to Southern Westchester County,” said Amini Kajunju, Executive Director of WIBO. “Major social and economic development transformations are occurring in cities like New Rochelle, White Plains, Mount Vernon and Yonkers. WIBO’s programs are geared to help new and existing small businesses strive through these commercial revitalizations.”

“As a graduate of the WIBO program, I know first hand how important and valuable this program can be for those who are currently in business or those who are inspiring to open their own business,” said Patricia McDow, Council Member and Majority Leader of the City of Yonkers. “I am proud to work closely with the WIBO staff in bringing this great program to Yonkers – especially during a time when the city is undergoing a Renaissance.”

The Yonkers and Southern Westchester County business community will now have access to WIBO’s 16-week workshop, “How to Build a Growing Profitable Business” and other small business related events and seminars. During WIBO’s flagship workshop, which is conducted during the spring and fall, entrepreneurs and small business owners build a detailed plan for carrying out every phase of their business. The fall workshop will be offered every Wednesday from 6:30-9:30pm and is now enrolling students for the fall term beginning September 5, 2007. The curriculum includes sessions on:

  • Marketing and sales
  • Financial analysis
  • Raising capital and financial management
  • Human resources management
  • Legal and ethical matters
  • Personal finance
