The foot of Main Street near the Recreation Pier and amphitheatre was named "Kendrick Boulevard" during Riverfest at noon in honor of Capt. Frank Kendrick, US Volunteer Life Saving Corps, who "gave his life to save a life in the river he loved" on September 11th, 2002. By Resolution of the City of Yonkers, Philip A. Amicone, Mayor, the Yonkers City Council with special thanks to Council Majority Leader Patricia Mc Dow.
